The Project
A beautiful development of 6 homes, which has been named the Best Small UK Development at the London Evening Standard New Homes Award 2017, features Dale’s range of timber windows and doors throughout.
Nestled in the charming village setting of Challock in Ashford, Kent, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the mixed development of detached and semi-detached homes were created by David Cox of Cox Developments – a family firm of developers specialising in the the repair and restoration of old buildings.
Built on the site of a former orchard on Clock House Farm, which David’s family had owned for many years, the goal was to create a development reflecting the beautiful, natural locality.
As a result, the properties feature exposed Flemish bond brickwork, locally handmade tile hung walls and white weatherboarding along with Dale’s range of made to measure timber windows and doors.
Looking for a supplier that could match their desire for quality, David worked with the team at Dale on a development prior to the Clock House Green build, before turning to them once again and has been delighted not only with the finished results but the level of customer service throughout.
“We are really proud of the windows and doors that feature throughout our Clockhouse Green development. They are truly wonderful quality and we absolutely love them.”
“The land had been in the family for many years and when we got planning permission for the old orchard site we really wanted to create something beautiful and unique. As a company with historical buildings at our heart, quality was essential,” said David.
“Although this was a new development it was vitally important to create it in keeping with the history, beauty and style of the local area, something that was sensitive and reflected the natural surroundings.”
“Our team does a lot of joinery work but when it came to the windows and doors we wanted something bespoke that provided the performance with the style we wanted, and chose Dale to help us achieve this.”
“Matt and Dan were extremely helpful throughout. They visited the site on several occasions and really helped us make the right choice both in terms of the styles and colours that have worked so well in the development. The finish we have achieved with the timber windows and doors has been superb.
Dale’s National Sales Manager, Matt Chambers is delighted that the Clock House Green Development has been recognised by winning the Evening Standard Award.
“This has been a really fantastic project for us to work on. The finish throughout is superb and it was clear from the outset that David wanted to create a development that blended timeless style with modern standards in a wonderfully natural setting.
“To achieve the Best Small Development award at the Evening Standard New Homes Award is a fantastic achievement and reflects the quality throughout,” said Matt.
Flush Casement Windows
The 6 new homes all have new flush casement windows from Dale Joinery throughout. The new windows differ in colour across the properties to give each home its own individual character.
Entrance Doors
Stunning new ‘Hadleigh’ style front doors were also specified for the development. This style of entrance door is the perfect fit for the style of property built here, and as with the windows, have been given a variety of colour finishes to give the development a unique, characterful look.
