Beautiful new homes in rural Suffolk
Matt is always on hand to help us
“Some salesmen, once they have got the sale, are not interested any more. This has never been the case with Matt. At every single stage and still now, he is on hand to help us and that really makes the difference!”

The Project
What was once a large, private home, with plenty of surrounding land, is now 3, generously sized, high specification, family homes, built by specialist developers, Bury Developments.
The original house on the plot was of the 1950s era, and in its day was quite the sight to behold, but it had not moved with the times and would have needed extensive works throughout to bring it up to today’s standards. Bury Developments therefore saw the opportunity to maximise the land and create multiple new homes for discerning buyers.
“The owner of the original house was the son of the first owner, and he sold it to one of the now homeowners of one of these 3 new homes” Carl Studd of Bury Developments explains. “He is a self-builder and so teamed up with us to gain permission for these 3 new properties.”
Through contact with his local Jewson rep, Carl was introduced to Dale Joinery, who were then instrumental throughout the project to ensure Bury Development’s vision was created. “Matt was involved at every stage, he came on multiple site visits, provided samples, helped us choose colours etc. He was really very helpful.”
Initially, when looking into options for the windows and doors for the home news, the self-builder was insistent on ‘Swedish style windows’. A sample of this style of window was sent out to himself and Carl, as well as a sample from Dale Joinery. When compared together, the Dale sample stood head and shoulders above the other and convinced the self-builder to change his mind.
The three homes are now complete to the delight of the new homeowners, and all with have their own, individual style, giving the overall development character and charm. As a testament to the efforts of everyone involved in the build, the two plots that were available after the self-builder chose his home, were snapped up on the very same day they opened for viewings.
At the rear of the plot, there is yet more land which Bury Developments plan to convert into a fourth home in time. “We also have plans for a new development of 8-9 homes elsewhere, and if budget allows, would love to use Dale again. We have been so happy with the service we have received from Dale Joinery” Carl concludes.
Feature Entrance Door
Pomeroy style entrance doors with sidelights were selected for the 3 plots on the development. This particular door was finished in the shade of ‘Reed Green’ and features a full sized toplight in ‘Pure White’, that floods the hall of the home with natural light and makes a bold statement at the front of the home.
Flush Casement Windows
Sleek flush casement windows that maximise natural light were the appropriate choice for the new homes. One of the three properties is cladded and so ‘Anthracite Grey’ casement windows complemented the colour of the cladding perfectly, while ‘Pure White’ windows were installed across the other 2 properties.
Entrance Doors
The 2 other homes also feature Pomeroy style doors in a ‘Dark Oak’ finish, partnered with 316 Coastal Grade Satin Stainless Steel Regent handles. This style of door and stain finish is timeless, and works perfectly with the style of the new properties.
Tilt & Turn Window
A beautiful tilt & turn window opening on to a Juliet balcony was installed on the first floor in one of the new homes. This versatile choice of window can open at either the top, or inwards like a door, providing the user with flexibility and is a popular style of window across the continent.
Bi-Fold Doors
Across the 3 homes, Bi-fold doors in the same colour finish as the new windows were installed. With each home boasting a generously sized garden, Dale Joinery bi-fold doors allow for living areas to blend seamlessly with outdoor spaces, ideal for young families and pets.
