Dale Selected for a Converted Dairy and Tractor Shed
The Dale products are far superior
“I also manage a separate project nearby where the homeowner wanted to use a local joiner. I’ve now convinced them to use Dale instead as the products are far superior”.

The Project
On farmland in Ware, Hertfordshire owned by Lord Carter, a former brick built dairy and tractor shed has now been developed and transformed into 3 contemporary styled living units.
Gordon Newbound is the lead contractor for this project and a number of other developments in the local area. His well-established business (K & G Newbound Building Contractors) has a strong reputation, thriving on repeat business. Mr Newbound discovered Dale through his local Jewsons who put him in touch with a member of the Dale team.
The range at Dale provided Mr Newbound with an alternative to joinery companies he had been using in the past. “The wood from the joiners is inferior compared to Dale. It would have arrived on site unglazed and not ready to install. It also would have cost roughly the same!”, he comments.
Originally, all 3 units were planned to be a part of the old dairy. However, the decision was made to put the third unit in the detached tractor shed, making for larger dwellings, with room for storage at the end of the dairy.
A selection of entrance doors, French doors, flush casement windows and a large patio door feature throughout, giving the buildings a stylish and contemporary look, replacing the Critall windows originally installed. “We have had zero issues with the windows and doors since they were installed. This makes a welcome change from joiners we have used in the past who often had to come out to deal with problems!” explains Mr Newbound.
The residential plans on the site in Ware will grow in the coming years, with another 2 units being converted at present. The completed units have already proved popular, will all 3 rented out and occupied. Mr Newbound has been so impressed with Dale that he is recommending them for other projects he is involved with.
French Doors
With each dwelling boasting a generous amount of space for their occupants, Mr Newbound chose to install beautiful sets of French doors with sidelights and toplights in 2 of the units. Finished in the shade of ‘Anthracite Grey’, these new doors ensure plenty of natural light into the new homes.
Patio Doors
For the third, detached unit, a large set of patio doors were specified in the same finish as the new windows and French doors. As the owners of this particular unit have two dogs, the ease of the sliding patio doors ensure all occupants of the home are delighted with the open living space.
