The Project
Nestled away in a picturesque part of the Surrey countryside, Mrs Whitehouse is the proud owner of this beautiful, newly built home.
“Previously, this was a former search light base, it wasn’t even built for residential use, so we had to demolish it and start again from scratch” Mrs Whitehouse explains.
With a clear vision of how she wanted her new home to look, Mrs Whitehouse brought an architect on board to assist with the designs, but closely managed the project herself to ensure her new home was exactly how she envisioned it.
“Due to the rural setting of the property, I wanted a traditional looking house so that it fitted in and was enhanced by its surroundings.”
Mrs Whitehouse took the opportunity to the visit the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon to explore window suppliers and options for her home, where Dale Joinery has a permanent exhibit in the “Dale House”. “Our architect also recommended Dale to me, so visiting the NSBRC was an essential step for the project” Mrs Whitehouse comments.
“This house was always going to have timber windows, I had hardwood windows on my previous house, so uPVC was never a consideration for me.”
With the works now complete, Mrs Whitehouse has achieved her goal of building a beautiful, traditional home, where Dale’s timber windows and doors have proved to be the perfect fit, and the most suitable choice for the home’s aesthetic.
“I have been so happy with the Dale service, there was a minor issue in the survey which was sorted out instantly without even a quibble, and the aftercare has been extremely attentive.”
Flush Casement Windows
Traditionally styled, timber flush casement windows in a ‘Signal White’ finish were specified by Mrs Whitehouse for her home. This timeless style of window features square 18mm astragal glazing bars and is manufactured in Engineered European Redwood, eliminating any concerns of warping or twisting over time.
Entrance Door
A beautiful Bevington style front door in a subtle ‘Silk Grey’ finish creates a stylish entrance to Mrs Whitehouse’s home. The door has a ‘Signal White’ frame and flag window, and is partnered with Chrome ironmongery. Our timber entrance doors are packed with advanced technology and high quality to stand the test of time.
French Doors
The owners had a desire to create a new garden room, where natural light was at the forefront and a feature set of timber French doors, with casement windows to both sides was the ideal solution. The room has a light and airy feel, and during the summer, allows the family to have the doors open and enjoy the beautiful scenery around their new home.
