The Project
This beautiful new build property in the Essex countryside has been carried out by Ian Rust. He owns and runs Struain Projects Ltd, a locally renowned property development company, specified for this project.
"This land belongs to the homeowners next door and was originally part of their driveway and garden. They also own a number of fields behind this plot, so with an excess of land on their hands, decided to develop a sympathetic new home here to then sell on” Mr Rust comments.
Complementing local architecture and neighbouring properties is always an important factor to take into consideration when building a home as it pays respect to the local area whilst enhancing it at the same time. With this in mind, all external aspects of this new home were planned with nearby properties in mind.
“I was originally thinking of a plain tiled roof, however, the neighbours all have slate, so it felt only right that this property also had slate” Mr Rust explains. “The combination of the render and cladding finish was also selected to be in keeping with the other traditional properties in the village”.
Whilst Mr Rust opted for a traditional finish externally, internally he aimed for modern, comfortable living. The kitchen and bathrooms are all finished to a very high specification and facilities such as underfloor heating and wireless sound link ready to enjoy in all rooms.
Entrance Doors
Being a large property, 3 sets of entrance doors were specified and installed across the home. The new doors are a bespoke variation of our ‘Tintagel’ door, with an extended glass section providing additional visibility and a touch of contemporary style. The new doors are finished in a colour complementary to Farrow & Ball ‘Castle Grey’ externally and ‘Pure White’ internally.
French Doors
A lovely new set of French timber doors with sidelights was also specified at the rear of the property, opening onto the home’s generously sized garden. The new French doors are finished in a colour complementary to Farrow & Ball ‘Castle Grey’ and a perfect colour match to the cladding applied onto the house.
