The Project
You would be forgiven for thinking that Dale Joinery only supply beautiful timber windows and doors for residential properties across the country. However, we are also highly experienced in supplying products for commercial projects as well, and are proud to have been specified for the renovation of The Design Partnership Ltd’s offices in Chatteris.
The Design Partnership are a renowned architectural practice with an impressive portfolio of beautiful developments across East Anglia. Their offices in Chatteris are based within a Grade II Listed building, where the original windows and doors had failed and were in dire need of replacement.
Office Manager for the company, Chelsea Bligh comments “The original windows and French doors were no longer serving their purpose, and were failing to retain any heat or prevent draughts during Winter. So, we decided to enlist the services of Dale Joinery to design and manufacture new windows for the building”.
Due to the building’s Listed status, any new windows and doors were required to be like-for-like, in order to match the period of the property accurately. “Dale were able to offer a modern alternative to the original windows, maintaining their classic style while incorporating additional security features and double glazing” Chelsea explains.
The high-performance specification of our timber windows and doors did not go unnoticed by The Design Partnership as Chelsea elaborates “The performance factor was particularly important for us as we are looking to reduce our carbon emissions as a business, and so reducing our energy usage through greater heat retention will aid us in reducing our carbon footprint”.
The renovation of the outside of the building is now complete, giving the office a much-needed facelift, and Chelsea concludes “the windows have improved the look of our building, giving it a fresh look and feel without altering its period charm. We are incredibly happy with the service we have been provided by the Dale Joinery team and would not hesitate to recommend them in the future!”.
Sash Windows
In a like-for-like replacement of the old windows, new, traditional timber sash windows in a ‘Cream’ finish have been installed throughout the company offices. The beautiful new windows feature 18mm astragal glazing bars and Polished Chrome sash hardware.
Flush Casement Windows
In other parts of the office, including the shared kitchen, new timber flush casement windows in the same ‘Cream’ finish were also installed. Their traditional appearance was both a match of the original windows, and a popular style used in many properties across the country.
