The Project
Finding a timber window and door manufacturer providing the right quality, finish and guarantees to match their own high standards was something that for many years had eluded Greg Smith of St Edmunds Developments – until he was introduced to Dale Joinery.
The company – which is renowned for creating high quality developments – has just completed a £2 million development of four family properties featuring a range of Dale’s front doors, timber sash windows and Bi-fold door sets.
For Greg, working with Dale has provided the answer to what had been a fruitless search that had previously seen them use a range of suppliers in a bid to find the right quality timber window and door solution.
“Over the years we have used a range of suppliers but never found any company we were really happy with or that met our own standards or expectations. Then we were introduced to a Dale window at our Covers merchants and straight away we were drawn to the look and feel of the products including the way they operated which said quality to us,” said Greg.
“Our latest development of four properties were very close to where I live so I wanted everything on the project to be right, and the windows and doors were fundamental to that. The Dale products may be a little more expensive but the quality throughout is excellent, and the guarantees that they come with covering the paint and woodwork also give extra peace of mind.”
When the project was completed and the properties went onto the market Greg said he also noticed the reaction to the doors and windows which was extremely positive.
“It was interesting to see the interaction people had with the windows and doors when the viewings were taking place, opening and closing the bi-folds, talking about how smoothly they operated and lifting the sash windows commenting positively about their effortless movement. We also had acoustic glazing fitted as the development was near a road and the difference that made also was amazing,” he said.
Greg is so happy with the Dale range of windows and doors that he is now having them fitted to his own property which is being refurbished and are now working with Dale on wider developments to specify our timber window and door products as standard on all of their projects over £500,000.
Sash Windows
Beautiful sash windows in a stylish ‘Pebble Grey’ finish were installed across the newly developed properties. The new windows are hung using a hidden spring mechanism, a modern take on a traditionally styled window that does not compromise the look or feel of the window, while operating beautifully on spiral balances.
Entrance Doors
In the same ‘Pebble Grey’ finish as the beautiful sash windows, new Hadleigh style entrance doors were installed at the entrances of the new homes. Their timeless design worked perfectly with the architecture of the properties, and are further complemented with Polished Chrome door ironmongery.
Bi-Fold Doors
Smooth to open and close, Dale Bi-Fold doors were installed in the new home’s kitchen and dining areas, giving easy access to the new home’s garden areas. The new Bi-Fold doors were also finished in ‘Pebble Grey’ to match the new windows and entrance doors.
