Annealed glass is a widely used standard type in the industry. It is designed to relieve internal stresses, resulting in a smooth surface with no visible distortions and excellent optical clarity.

Argon is widely used for double-glazed glass units, and it helps significantly lower the U Value of any window. It also offers improved soundproofing qualities and is the industry standard.

Our bifold doors feature high-performing bottom running mechanisms. This means the doors run along a bottom track so their weight is concentrated at the foot of the door. It allows for a smoother sliding operation as they have a lower center of gravity, meaning they don’t pull down as much weight from the top of the frame. In addition, they’re also easier to install than top hung bifold doors.

Cavity closers are required for a number of reasons within a building project. A cavity closer ultimately acts as a seal to prevent external water droplets and eliminate damp and condensation from entering the cavity wall and the building. Additionally, it also prevents heat from being lost through the gap.

A cavity needs to be filled with insulation and capped off prior to fitting windows and doors, which applies to all builds when fitting windows and doors. Cavity formers form a structural opening template within the wall construction brick layers can build to, meaning that you can continue to push forward with your project without waiting for your windows or doors to be made.

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required by law. This document provides an energy efficient rating of the property which is graded from A to G - A being the most efficient and G being the least efficent.

An EPC rating also includes recommendations for improving energy efficiency of the property, alongisde an estimate of energy costs.

Our flat pack option applies to our patio doors range and includes delivery to site either fully constructed or partly deconstructed to assist with installation.

Trickle vents are compulsory if your existing windows feature them. A trickle vent allows fresh air to circulate naturally while allowing polluting air to escape. This means you don’t have to open or close your windows, but you can manually open and close trickle vents depending on your ventilation requirements. Our internally beaded glazing is installed from room side for optimum security. This means that the glass is secured in place from inside the room, and cannot be removed from the outside without breaking it.

Krypton, a gas, slows down and blocks the transfer of thermal energy through windows, and it is well-suited to triple-glazed glass. It’s highly energy efficient and shares similarities with Argon, but it is of slightly higher quality and denser.

Laminated glass provides the same benefits as toughened glass, with the added advantage of noise reduction.

Multi layered timber is often referred to as ‘engineered timber’. It’s achieved by layering timber wood sections for extra strength, stability and durability. Our timber construction keeps windows functioning perfectly all year round.

Phased deliveries applies to all of our product range, and we do not charge extra for this service. We understand that working on large projects, whether it’s a self build, or multiple new builds at any one time, can be difficult to manage. Our phased deliveries allow for partial delivery of your products at dates that suit you.

SAP standards for Standard Assessment Procedure and is the official government approved system for assessing the energy rating of dwellings. This assessment is used in Energy Performance Certificates (EPC).

Key aspects of a Standard Assessment Procedure include energy performance calculation, energy ratings, carbon emissions and compliance.

Self-cleaning glass requires less maintenance thanks to a special coating on its surface. This coating reacts with UV light from the sun to break down dirt particles.

Solar control glass is used to reduce heat transfer (solar gain) during the summer, helping to keep your property cool by blocking out the sun.

Our products receive a three coat, microporous coating system finish. Microporous paints use a resin system which provide a durable and breathable finish. It also minimises the risk of cracking and peeling on timber which is often associated with standard coatings.

Toughened glass is another commonly used type of glass. It is four times stronger than annealed glass. Its exceptional strength enhances safety by significantly reducing the risk of injury because of the way the glass shatters.

A U-Value quantifies the rate of heat loss or gain through a material or building component. A lower U-value indicates better insulation, meaning less heat is transferred through the material, and therefore, it is better at maintaining indoor temperature. The required U-Value rating is 1.1 W/m2k in compliance with building regulations.

Xenon represents one of the latest gas-filling options for windows, boasting impressive insulation properties. Its superior performance comes at a higher cost compared to Krypton and Argon gases.
